<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">It was not unusual to hear that sound around our house or anywhere we were out with my oldest son. He used this call to find us when we had separated or just to get our attention. And no, he wasn't a small child - this was something that started in his early teens and continues today. While creating this project, I was sure that if he still lived at home, there would have been a great deal </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">of "Ca-caw"ing going on around here.</span></div>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">This little crow was inspired by <a href="http://stecreazioni.blogspot.it/2013/03/portametro-e-puntaspilli-con-mascotte.html?m=1" target="_blank">this chicken pin cushion</a>, it's not lost on me that they really have very little in common, but that's the way my creative process works. Crazy? I know!</span></div>
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1MwjlN17-DOIrUgHRqipRWSMoRUcVyENJuwLnVU_vR2WjB7EY62bTTcPXmL5f5UQLmlJbm9f_v7xoAT44eCBPtjxLAgBSSGee6ZSdEFobgxWvuTRKIVw-CzAHvWJ-z_Ap8Hv8TBbX5WR4/s1600/DSC_2107.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1MwjlN17-DOIrUgHRqipRWSMoRUcVyENJuwLnVU_vR2WjB7EY62bTTcPXmL5f5UQLmlJbm9f_v7xoAT44eCBPtjxLAgBSSGee6ZSdEFobgxWvuTRKIVw-CzAHvWJ-z_Ap8Hv8TBbX5WR4/s640/DSC_2107.jpg" width="428" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">The base is a basic flower pin cushion. I figured that this would make a lovely little fall gift for a friend, so I used the <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi6bAU6FW-U9vDogFK7nV3eH9JXviuuKej6r_6KRFGvUxGxBqGcONEOvWmOw_9icKb3rEgh3z_Fva2ldBc2MDxJL_zkWmOCUrSOQVHaDlyEy5vRWI66GZA23SU85b8cUd0dLUOit-I1oT_l/s1600/chickens+template+for+applique.jpg" target="_blank">pattern </a> to create a card as well. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">I loved having a matching card and I thing I will definitely be trying this again.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPY0KBT-svRbMG_5ycWXtMH8ILeZFAabOTPRiQfhBQDw1rZ4S8Th7a-WQF0N1jvzw2nbG-GCKQwyvmQIGJLwNzYx-Cw0xOiyWPcHpCqVN2HI82XcSjMjvxUxt9XTA7qi4hQnH85BF5akFk/s1600/DSC_2112.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPY0KBT-svRbMG_5ycWXtMH8ILeZFAabOTPRiQfhBQDw1rZ4S8Th7a-WQF0N1jvzw2nbG-GCKQwyvmQIGJLwNzYx-Cw0xOiyWPcHpCqVN2HI82XcSjMjvxUxt9XTA7qi4hQnH85BF5akFk/s320/DSC_2112.jpg" width="253" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">The paper version is a little bit larger than the pin cushion. I guess the seams and stuffing fluff him out a little and make her wider and shorter.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: large;">If you are feeling crafty please check out the link above, it's a wonderful and simple pattern. Although it is for a family of chickens, it can be easily adapted to be any kind of bird you want.</span></div>

Hi everyone! Today's project was inspired by a post on <a href="http://sawdustgirl.com/2011/07/04/handmade-christmas-in-july-magnetic-pin-bowl/" target="_blank">Sawdustgirl</a> . I love dishes and I love pin cushions, so it was a must try project for me. Below is a photo of the original. It is a great tutorial, she actually starts with glass pieces and paints them to get this gorgeous green color.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-5618" height="400" src="http://www.sawdustgirl.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/Magnetic-Pin-Holder.jpg" title="Magnetic Pin Holder" width="307" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Sticking with the "use what you have" theme, I raided one of secret storage spots and found some super pretty red and white pieces that were a perfect fit. Using dishes as they are made the process very simple.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
1. Wipe down dishes to make sure they are dust free. Collect some Mighty Magnets. These were purchased at <a href="http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/400047/Office-Depot-Brand-Mighty-Magnets-Silver/" target="_blank">Office Depot</a> . You will also need some adhesive, I chose Goop. If you are using the open end of the base bottom up, glue the magnets to the top piece. If you are going to use the closed end up, you will glue the magnets to the bottom of the base piece. (shown below)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI2dssSlKMBW89_jgtu81BrZDNh7pz0dgwZslzPgJrpq-8YuvJfYpC_U9fWeOTYcv38xHVobhU4xraxEq9gdcB40N8l4ryzgGfAAxQceVR0oHcS2UGUUuuhLBqNyNZdpFe6AWwmZk-96Dn/s1600/DSC_2103.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="355" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI2dssSlKMBW89_jgtu81BrZDNh7pz0dgwZslzPgJrpq-8YuvJfYpC_U9fWeOTYcv38xHVobhU4xraxEq9gdcB40N8l4ryzgGfAAxQceVR0oHcS2UGUUuuhLBqNyNZdpFe6AWwmZk-96Dn/s400/DSC_2103.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2. Once the glue has dried glue the two pieces together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH6HRYTSEW5ZKoAoESS2YZtSZ-9T1KrCHKox3Hx2hLeeYaxxgxOW6eBXcch_tp8UmimH3UagagLZEC0Cwi1dgMti2RJshje9NfKRUh_3v_W6dMtxS7Qj2LGfmvFyGwwmThTh8iFCRZkfUt/s1600/DSC_2104.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="378" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiH6HRYTSEW5ZKoAoESS2YZtSZ-9T1KrCHKox3Hx2hLeeYaxxgxOW6eBXcch_tp8UmimH3UagagLZEC0Cwi1dgMti2RJshje9NfKRUh_3v_W6dMtxS7Qj2LGfmvFyGwwmThTh8iFCRZkfUt/s400/DSC_2104.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Voila! When the glue is dried, flip the dish over and it is ready to collect your pins.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This view shows some pretty hefty "hanger" paper clips. They are not going anywhere and neither will your pins.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">My husband has learned over the last 22 years that I will freak out over the strangest things. Things he thinks are scraps or trash. So when we recently installed a new dog door, he didn't even think twice when I screamed and said, "Can I have that piece of the door?!?!" It usually takes some serious study of the object to figure out what it will be transformed into, but with my pantry to sewing room conversion in full swing, the idea came pretty quickly.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyADB0hXCgITxxv8SCv00HQ2iWk61hEJRVGGBquERDYuTuxRinu9jlaFPNXf4wAZDj-VDToM7OfBlX2Bmw60Ej2R7G-cBwNDEiijpgRB1MhiQb7BqHyAbfQJnirvrz7lY8QyPmf-r2jlqJ/s1600/DSC_2096.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyADB0hXCgITxxv8SCv00HQ2iWk61hEJRVGGBquERDYuTuxRinu9jlaFPNXf4wAZDj-VDToM7OfBlX2Bmw60Ej2R7G-cBwNDEiijpgRB1MhiQb7BqHyAbfQJnirvrz7lY8QyPmf-r2jlqJ/s400/DSC_2096.jpg" width="271" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The door was already black and I love the contrast with the taupe walls. I am an old school kind of craft girl, so I used my computer to print out the text and carbon paper (Yes...I know it is 2013!) to transfer the image. Painted over the transfer with white paint to get a crisp image of the text. If you have a Cricut, you could easily cut paper or vinyl to add the wording.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhN1JzQ75WV7Bs5PhNz0Sk9MIsP3ZoVXn4lk5uH_igIkCyt7w2pnwoRqXmq1EVOaIENBDozrw0Z9uWhaP_DOUgzmh3HK0EtTb59QHF7XQqnXEvMcILWF-f8ZXap9gvHF1dtb7uzHsJnejow/s1600/DSC_2099.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhN1JzQ75WV7Bs5PhNz0Sk9MIsP3ZoVXn4lk5uH_igIkCyt7w2pnwoRqXmq1EVOaIENBDozrw0Z9uWhaP_DOUgzmh3HK0EtTb59QHF7XQqnXEvMcILWF-f8ZXap9gvHF1dtb7uzHsJnejow/s400/DSC_2099.jpg" width="267" /></a></div>

<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Then marks were measured, nails were hammered and spools were put in place. And yes, if you were wondering, I am in love with it!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">This simple project started with inspiration from Tim Holtz. His <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/78560350/tim-holtz-idea-ology-fractured-doll?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product_listing_promoted&utm_campaign=supplies_low&gclid=CPz077nMy7gCFSUV7AodqHgAGg" target="_blank">Broken Doll</a> figures caught my attention on Etsy. It is as if they were made to be pincushions. The package comes with two dolls. Which was perfect for me - one to give and one to keep. </span></div>

<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Last Friday I took a little day trip to Tulsa, OK. On my way I passed through Moore. My family and friends had seen the devastation on News programs, but nothing prepared me for what I saw last week. Something about driving through the completely rubble filled areas struck me much more than what I had seen on television. Seeing the people, still going about their lives while the devastation surrounded them was a jarring experience for me. These people still need our help and I would like to make it nice and easy for anyone is blessed enough to have a little something to share with them. Below I have listed several links, all of which are still taking donations for the tornado victims in Moore, OK. Please forward this post to friends and family that may be able to help as well. </span></div>

<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Not the "sad" kind, but the kind where blue papers and embellishments are my favorite choice for creating. It has been a little rainy here in North Texas, but that makes for perfect stamping conditions. This little card includes one of my favorite Hero Arts stamps "Musical Walk". The other day while shopping at the local Hobby lobby (No, I didn't buy ANY card making materials) there were several of these in their clearance bin. So if you like this stamp, a great deal might be in your future.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">In addition to some beautiful papers and a favorite stamp this card is filled with many little bits and pieces of vintage trims found at a wonderful little booth at the Antique Gallery. Pom pom trim lines the bottom, a bow created with scraps of vintage seam binding and a teeny tiny piece of lace provides a sweet little back ground for the framed blue rose. The mulberry paper flower is from <a href="http://www.emmaspaperie.com/category_s/30.htm" target="_blank">Emma's Paperie</a>. The pearl pins are corsage pins from Michael's. They are pretty and no where near the price of hand made pins, but the impact is just as lovely. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Headers are an architectural elements that have always caught my eye. I even have a "pediment" board on Pintrest. So when I saw Tim Holtz's new <a href="http://www.ellenhutson.com/servlet/the-17778/Sizzix-Sizzix-Bigz-Die,/Detail" target="_blank">Big Die Pediments</a> it seemed like the perfect die for me. Tim Holtz has such a wonderful way of designing products that offer eye catching shapes with embossed details.</span></div>

<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Hi all! I am still stamping, but having a little glitch with uploading new photos to BEE. So it seemed like a perfect time to share a sewing project from this spring. It started out with a vintage handkerchief picked up at a local antique mall. Just a white hankie, with one embroidered corner. This project was inspired by a Pintrest project that you can find on my <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/281615782919636678/" target="_blank">"For my scissors"</a> board. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnnxi6zNOV9ldcZQGcZfk5wxObU00Gui_h1rDnfk9VlHVYydlzgynQu7MRScGsyQETsIVMIdWwTfOrZERKJ0Cl0QcZufBK9qhe6tUzbzA83bhhgbT0CAJbG6ffpEPJf3HltLu-iFp8i4Dz/s1600/DSC_2005.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnnxi6zNOV9ldcZQGcZfk5wxObU00Gui_h1rDnfk9VlHVYydlzgynQu7MRScGsyQETsIVMIdWwTfOrZERKJ0Cl0QcZufBK9qhe6tUzbzA83bhhgbT0CAJbG6ffpEPJf3HltLu-iFp8i4Dz/s400/DSC_2005.JPG" width="267" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> Basic tube construction was used, adding a little pocket on the back. The base is anchored with a large blue button. Embroidery floss hair and a little shawl (made with the detailed corner of the handkerchief) added some personality. Additional sewing notions help balance her for standing.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The pink polka dot scissors seemed the perfect accessories for this little girl. This was a such a fun project. As the mother of two boys, I didn't get to braid hair in the mornings before school, so I have to admit, the hair was one of my favorite elements.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Have you been inspired by a Pintrest project? I would love to hear about it!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">I'm back and very excited! You might be thinking that I am excited about keeping up with my own challenge, but that's not it! Once I commit to something it's pretty easy for me to stick with the routine. I will share my triumph later, but first today's card...</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix0XQOdvbok1HSrPov6e48ZiX63U1KKhOgIBw0LkixO7lU_lY9sW0pMgKdoXXeXIu5CCvTq7Za4vVNC5IiPhOUDqBcp9jLz08f9V0wSWUosg3B4EjffCbwuItjCKugAXbIyhhBdE2Xv8Wm/s1600/20130613_130959_resized.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix0XQOdvbok1HSrPov6e48ZiX63U1KKhOgIBw0LkixO7lU_lY9sW0pMgKdoXXeXIu5CCvTq7Za4vVNC5IiPhOUDqBcp9jLz08f9V0wSWUosg3B4EjffCbwuItjCKugAXbIyhhBdE2Xv8Wm/s640/20130613_130959_resized.jpg" width="480" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">To keep things nice and easy, this card uses the same papers, inks and stamps as the card that was featured yesterday. It is a pretty basic layout, there was a bow on the spine, but after some thought, it needed to go. I often tell my young art students that one of the most difficult parts of being an artist is knowing when to stop. My process involves leaving my projects visible on a side table while tidying my work space or working on my next creation. This allows me to review the composition, colors, and elements used and decide if the project is really finished. Sometimes things need to be added, sometimes things need to be taken away. Sometimes it's just right.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">What's your process?</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjId7y42TxadpM9r4MHsTwX5pSSHoEsROMjkcfBKEkDNbWiqKz44Evz9iRpNJgIjRYTs-KaxsJcY8Y9YRqVniUhg-izRsbig50NE0IyNFKMU9JqgBV16cYhO8IlHbRMnx25i2TYGrS7Tpkr/s1600/untitled.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjId7y42TxadpM9r4MHsTwX5pSSHoEsROMjkcfBKEkDNbWiqKz44Evz9iRpNJgIjRYTs-KaxsJcY8Y9YRqVniUhg-izRsbig50NE0IyNFKMU9JqgBV16cYhO8IlHbRMnx25i2TYGrS7Tpkr/s320/untitled.png" width="264" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> The inside is just as straight forward as the front, two rectangles - </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">two quick stamps </span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">and done.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Now the story of my harrowing trip to Jo Ann. All of the card making around here the last two days has left me in need of some adhesive. Easy enough, right? Wrong. If I haven't introduced myself let me do so now, "Hi, my name is Jamie, and I'm addicted to paper." Do you know what is just around the corner from the glue at Jo Ann? Yep! You guessed it, PAPER. Loads and loads of beautiful paper. My heart was beating pretty fast, but I looked down and headed for the cashier. Before I knew it, I was leaving the store with only glue. Granted it was the second day of my own "Use what you have" challenge - so my hands weren't shaky yet, but it was pretty huge for me.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">What is your favorite crafting supply? </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>

Jamiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05792045437363261653noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6212438641856082208.post-42973836733878785182013-06-12T14:12:00.002-05:002013-06-12T14:12:40.462-05:00Summer Challenge<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Hi everyone! I am so happy for summer break. I have long lists of things to do that were neglected during the school year, but I also have some fun planned. About the middle of April, my card supply had dwindled down to hardly anything. I had to resort to the unthinkable...yes, it's true...I gave store bought cards. AKKK! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> Now that I have settled in to my summer routine I am making a vow to stamp a little something everyday. As I was going though my supplies to see what papers I wanted to use yesterday, I was kind of overwhelmed. I know that we have all said it, but I have invested way to much in papers, stamps, embellishments and ribbons to let them just gather dust in my studio. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So here is the Challenge:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"> </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>ONE CARD EVERY DAY USING ONLY WHAT I HAVE IN MY STUDIO</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">What do you think? I am going to allow myself to buy adhesive, but that's all. Do you want to join me? I would love to hear about and see all of the new projects you are working on using all of those supplies that you have stored up in you craft room. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">So here we go! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><b>Day 1:</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">This little card was made using "Family Ties" papers by Pebbles, "Story Tellers" cardboard stickers by Crate Paper. Quick and easy enough to still have time to pretty up the inside of the card.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Voila! One day down...? to go. I know I should count, but that makes the summer a quantitative period of time. I prefer to think of it as so far away the days couldn't possibly be counted.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">Do you play favorites? I have to shamefully admit I do. Not with my children, but with my projects for sure. I seem to have attachments to certain sewing projects. It is usually whatever I have most recently finished. So, here is the fave as of five minutes ago. (I couldn't wait to share it.)</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh67SKiLVNNkAYXdZK4yxmvbgVqudLY5F9wocec5u4qGfijunaVejJzBy0twaLw09Jv1We8fPHWTZTxczLQjW-hQ6TrlqOdrGh0ctbWyKq5wIraBlD80V-3PAG1MhCEEvcUTJbOZWa6ie3/s1600/DSC_2037.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgh67SKiLVNNkAYXdZK4yxmvbgVqudLY5F9wocec5u4qGfijunaVejJzBy0twaLw09Jv1We8fPHWTZTxczLQjW-hQ6TrlqOdrGh0ctbWyKq5wIraBlD80V-3PAG1MhCEEvcUTJbOZWa6ie3/s640/DSC_2037.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">The fine weave burlap started out it's life a a laundry sack for an army kitchen. It was smelly and crazy wrinkled. But at $5, it was screaming, "Take me home and make something cool with me!" FYI...Jeff was screaming, "Take me home, these vintage textiles smell awful!" After weeks of cleaning treatments and heavy duty steaming and ironing it became the perfect pallet for a willow tree and a small flock of woolly friends.</span> </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjKvwIx85oMfqzvP1_g3DW5SjAubQzfC4w7NUMQ3LbNO5YNAN58SUm9zXJIgGejeknc_TYYaH10ew8ZPfGMNENW2w9-Q0krwkjoE1I8Gggdt0oRBfct2X7wxng9o93i8uXguXbeILPQzuh/s1600/DSC_2039.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="427" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjKvwIx85oMfqzvP1_g3DW5SjAubQzfC4w7NUMQ3LbNO5YNAN58SUm9zXJIgGejeknc_TYYaH10ew8ZPfGMNENW2w9-Q0krwkjoE1I8Gggdt0oRBfct2X7wxng9o93i8uXguXbeILPQzuh/s640/DSC_2039.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">The antique wooden bobbin was a score from a local Antique Mall. There is a wonderful booth that features what I can only describe as grab bags full of wonderful vintage sewing notions. You can't always see what you are buying, but her affordable prices and wonderful goodies make it well worth taking a chance. This picture also gives a better look at the black beads and crochet lace trim around the edging.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">This cushion started out just as many of mine do, two circles sewn together and turned. The back is soft black wool felt. I am no purist when it comes to embroidery, I just worked on each element until I was happy with the result. Stitches include; running, cross, back and a few french knots for the curly lambs wool.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">Now on to firsts. This was my first attempt at making a pin cushion. I went to my old stand by, muslin. Before any sewing I rubber stamped the images with black staz-on ink. After that the assembly was just a basic rectangle pillow construction.</span> </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjARdSGBtoRk0vnkIgHtTKLROpmToRWs5DG7hc_MvFnijjdKv3T7PQYpA58TDyQKI1sDVXFKTEyzdFOuivqBbRcPYRkXCQAVUaM-GoDQJfEGn36-9ObYmjPJGVk30zPkjwxhCXETXF-UUNT/s1600/DSC_1656.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjARdSGBtoRk0vnkIgHtTKLROpmToRWs5DG7hc_MvFnijjdKv3T7PQYpA58TDyQKI1sDVXFKTEyzdFOuivqBbRcPYRkXCQAVUaM-GoDQJfEGn36-9ObYmjPJGVk30zPkjwxhCXETXF-UUNT/s320/DSC_1656.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">I left the ends natural and they have frayed a little (which I love!). A quick bow, buttons and two little corsage pins and I was hooked. From that moment on it was all about pin cushions for me.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI-DV4yDRGKcKGcup49NNZxO1-j4MCgp-ov6VAYcfkRMKAYMl1qj051K-au_ybJCgRwR1rBEFeXHykOkUn9eJqHTMXXs0hGnVHSmiYMSYEiRusJPjijOyZ430kQ9j0ZIvLFL1XSw_B6C9E/s1600/DSC_1881.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjI-DV4yDRGKcKGcup49NNZxO1-j4MCgp-ov6VAYcfkRMKAYMl1qj051K-au_ybJCgRwR1rBEFeXHykOkUn9eJqHTMXXs0hGnVHSmiYMSYEiRusJPjijOyZ430kQ9j0ZIvLFL1XSw_B6C9E/s320/DSC_1881.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: large;">So, how about you? Do you play favorites? What it your current obsession?</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #6aa84f; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">EVERYWHERE a pin cushion. More pin cushions today. Up first today is a little felted birdy on a traditional flower shaped cushion. A while back I posted a </span><a href="http://www.bee-jamie.blogspot.com/2012/09/fall-felting.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #6aa84f; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">felted pumpkin</span></a><span style="color: #6aa84f; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> and the link to purchase the kit I used to create it. I took that lesson, and some wool roving from Hobby Lobby and made this little robin. I think it dressed up this basic pin cushion well. Also added a few Tim Holtz vintage look safety pins an it seemed complete. The circular pin could actually hold a gift card, place card, or any kind of greeting, but for now I like it empty.</span></div>

<span style="color: #274e13; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> That was the question a friend asked, when I bumped into her in December. My answer was not really. But when I got home I realized that I hadn't made anything with paper in awhile, but I had been feeding my pin cushion addiction with crochet and sewing. Over the next few weeks I will be sharing them here at BEE. Even if you don't have a practical use for a pin cushion, these fun designs make a perfect accessory to many rooms of the house.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #274e13; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"></span><br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #274e13; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The pin cushions pictured below is my first attempt. This one recycled an old quilted toile pillow sham for fabric, an antique dog figurine, and a few beads added to pearl top corsage pins. I will put together a tutorial for this style pin cushion as it has been my favorite to make so far, and you will see them in future posts, but for now it is simply two circles; sew around the perimeter, turn, stuff, close and embellish. Easy peasy.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #274e13; font-family: Verdana; font-size: large;"></span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiyAoI2w_IsRpDAQ-Zlk-lLwD6c5S9e1SijwnrguNSxUpMaynJ-szbm2nTsQIoEcwmngTxO-OaAOT0kYHWxvTAHY1lc_ypxP2exSfP61NNoNIboRSPaC64e7HE4t4j7mr3X0An1WF1Oj8l/s1600/DSC_1859.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiyAoI2w_IsRpDAQ-Zlk-lLwD6c5S9e1SijwnrguNSxUpMaynJ-szbm2nTsQIoEcwmngTxO-OaAOT0kYHWxvTAHY1lc_ypxP2exSfP61NNoNIboRSPaC64e7HE4t4j7mr3X0An1WF1Oj8l/s400/DSC_1859.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">The next one is a crochet project. I found it on Pintrest...of course! The pattern can be found at </span><a href="http://www.hookedonneedles.com/2009/08/crocheted-pin-cushion-pattern-english.html" target="_blank"><span style="color: #0b5394; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;">Hooked on Needles</span></a><span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> . I appreciate her giving us such a cute pattern to use. Check it out if you crochet. It is easy and super fast. The pins on this one are a little more difficult to see, but they are also pearl top corsage pins with small green flower beads under the pearl.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaUTRqx_Ma81ai-bF9xccQaJs23gf_SE6asS7MsXBRWJ9Tqqf0_Qbxg6GppoqCLLMy0W_YigB7-hRvUJF-yDx8XTRapdcutlWvj9bBR08LysOza5vbjVdw8gDTfeJ8sZXZf7Xw8VMzILXJ/s1600/DSC_1871.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaUTRqx_Ma81ai-bF9xccQaJs23gf_SE6asS7MsXBRWJ9Tqqf0_Qbxg6GppoqCLLMy0W_YigB7-hRvUJF-yDx8XTRapdcutlWvj9bBR08LysOza5vbjVdw8gDTfeJ8sZXZf7Xw8VMzILXJ/s400/DSC_1871.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; font-size: large;"> Lastly, I want to share a no sew pin cushions. Also found the idea and instructions on pintrest, but the assembly is pretty straight forward. I took the disk portion of a canning jar lid and glued batting to the top. Covered it with fabric and then slid the ring over the top. I didn't use glue, it fit pretty snug once I got it in place, but if you wanted to you could glue the disk into the ring. A little leftover lace trim finished the lid out perfectly. Next I added a few little treasures; vintage thimble, vintage rhinestone clover pin, and a crinkled seam binding bow. It is kind of difficult to see, but there is a little needle threader hanging below the thimble.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">It's feeling a little like fall here in North Texas! That means a cool 84 degrees. Ha ha! Since it is starting to cool off a little I decided to take the opportunity to show you a little fall project I just finished this afternoon. I pinned a cute little <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/281615782918749004/" target="_blank">felted pumpkin</a> a couple of months ago and titled it "I am totally learning to do this!". And I did! I ordered <a href="http://www.etsy.com/listing/85343945/needle-felting-kit-pumpkin-do-it?ref=cat1_gallery_3" target="_blank">this kit</a> and started working on it last week. It is a great kit for beginners, including everything you need to make the little pumpkin. Instructions were super clear and easy to follow. I was squealing with delight within a few minutes. It was like making a felt sculpture. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I started with this...</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Really it's more of a jill-o-lantern after I added the bow to the hat I decided she needed to be a girl. Then the eyelashes were the next natural step. She is sitting on a vintage spool painted black and distress. My original intention was that she would be a little more primitive than cute, but as with most of my art projects, she kind of took on a life of her own once I had started. I'm going to give the prim look another try so check back soon to see a few more pumpkins.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">If you are interested in felting I encourage you to try this little kit. It was really a fun way to try a new craft.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Hi! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Today I want to share a project I made in May for some of my coworkers. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizJvXjQsTJbOvbKx26qJfAAc9sZypXqSbOda_FW-c6Ylczn1G8vt8muomMBm7lUUcr2nFAFoXuAWEazsx14qGJtwDj-bNkRzSyN1qHwuCw9Q53tcW-S3CdV4jJMapNwu15z0D_FKlVVh86/s1600/rotated+berry+button+card.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizJvXjQsTJbOvbKx26qJfAAc9sZypXqSbOda_FW-c6Ylczn1G8vt8muomMBm7lUUcr2nFAFoXuAWEazsx14qGJtwDj-bNkRzSyN1qHwuCw9Q53tcW-S3CdV4jJMapNwu15z0D_FKlVVh86/s400/rotated+berry+button+card.jpg" width="252" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">It is a pretty straight forward project. The stamping was quick and easy...1. Stamp the Papertrey Ink <a href="http://www.papertreyink.com/Item.aspx?ID=2329" target="_blank">Button Boutique Stamp </a> on white cardstock. 2. Stamp the "Thank you" in the center of the button card image. The stuffed felt strawberry is a magnet, so in order to attach it to the card I glued a penny to a slightly larger piece of brown cardstock. Then centered the white stamped piece on the brown mat.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8b4Vl6XqMtvhf0miw59eMBhvGI_N5lTZt2LJ0xQkJ2VuB-V3DH2zbhcIYEuwj2_Aq66otQdGgUuUIe6WGOYQqZj0xr-1QS3FF19RKBt58Tk0XrVusIAvFvpnP2SoL45NFMtVH6haol_Mx/s1600/PicMonkey+Collage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="131" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8b4Vl6XqMtvhf0miw59eMBhvGI_N5lTZt2LJ0xQkJ2VuB-V3DH2zbhcIYEuwj2_Aq66otQdGgUuUIe6WGOYQqZj0xr-1QS3FF19RKBt58Tk0XrVusIAvFvpnP2SoL45NFMtVH6haol_Mx/s400/PicMonkey+Collage.jpg" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I love sewing with felt. I think it is much easier to sew seams on the outside of a project. This strawberry is simply two red felt hearts, embellished with "v" shaped stitches for seeds. The hearts are sewn together with a blanket stitch and stuffed with a little cotton batting. The green leaf and red pieces used for the berry are all cut on my Big Shot using two different size hearts from the <a href="http://www.overstock.com/Crafts-Sewing/Wizard-Nestabilities-Classic-Heart-Die-Set/3128436/product.html?cid=202290&kid=9553000357392&track=pspla&kw={keyword}&adtype=pla" target="_blank">Classic Heart Die Set</a> from Nestabilities. The sweet little flower is also a die, <a href="http://www.mftstamps.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=953" target="_blank">Die-namics mini rolled roses</a> . It is one of my most <span style="background-color: white;">used dies, I think the cute little flowers are a great finishing touch to any project.</span><span style="background-color: white;"> </span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white;"><span style="font-size: large;">One more quick look at the finished project.</span></span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">But it has been CRAZY busy around the McCormick house. First of all I have been thrilled to use all of my free summer vacation time to try out some projects from Jack's Pintrest boards.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I started with this great milk can project from </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">his <a href="http://pinterest.com/pin/281615782919157165/" target="_blank">"Front Porch"</a> board.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Pinned Image" height="400" id="pinCloseupImage" src="http://media-cache-ec8.pinterest.com/upload/284852745151388127_u3MxgEDy_c.jpg" width="266" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">It took quite a bit of hunting and a fair amount of haggling, but I was able to find a milk can locally. I deserve a huge slap on the wrists for not getting a before picture, but if you close your eyes and picture a tomato red milk can with sunflowers measuring about 5" in diameter painted all around the sides, you have a good idea of where I started. Oh, and I can't forget the white polka dots in puffy dimensional paint. It was quite a site!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Now open your eyes and see my new black address milk can.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFavMoOvxwDMxTIKyyxX-5utkTFOI9MB35OI-0ab_YthVkAos-5SgrQ9kruuWagAsiaoEwJMJoj3TuKmZOZrsdw90xdKC0eGIqJB3kmTxQJxW017rQcjeoCbVYBtnoEawrzjgYxxGEjcTC/s1600/DSC_1767.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFavMoOvxwDMxTIKyyxX-5utkTFOI9MB35OI-0ab_YthVkAos-5SgrQ9kruuWagAsiaoEwJMJoj3TuKmZOZrsdw90xdKC0eGIqJB3kmTxQJxW017rQcjeoCbVYBtnoEawrzjgYxxGEjcTC/s400/DSC_1767.JPG" width="267" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Yikes - my photo looks so bad next to that one above. I have to work on that!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The project went pretty much as expected. The original paint was pretty thick, so it needed some sanding before paint. The paint used was <a href="http://www.walmart.com/ip/Krylon-Indoor-Outdoor-Spray-Paint-Gloss-Black/17211042" target="_blank">Krylon</a> high gloss black (2 cans). Painting the address was a little more tricky, I tried to use stencils but didn't really get a good smooth image like I wanted. I look everywhere for vinyl numbers but couldn't find white in a font that I liked. Finally the numbers were ordered from <a href="http://doityourselflettering.com/" target="_blank">Do it yourself lettering</a> . The shipping was the same amount as the numbers, but it was worth it to me. I really love the finished project.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Now for news on another big event around here...</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">IT'S A BOY!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUXWpokT2utZ7bygWNZPFAqG2HzlIFrx8X0V3_Ap0Gix2-ptjhJOwN0xHvgnteWMwtERU0lcVAr3EweYDhZksfGow5275ERNQKE6JT61P-_aZDFt7pR71P3RwfRX0pxtj1_GNBZOXHeg38/s1600/DSC_1758.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUXWpokT2utZ7bygWNZPFAqG2HzlIFrx8X0V3_Ap0Gix2-ptjhJOwN0xHvgnteWMwtERU0lcVAr3EweYDhZksfGow5275ERNQKE6JT61P-_aZDFt7pR71P3RwfRX0pxtj1_GNBZOXHeg38/s400/DSC_1758.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">We have a new baby around the house. His name is Jim and he is keeping us really busy! He bounces from one activity to another - bones, balls, tug of war, and eating anything he can fit in his mouth (as well as somethings he can't) We are having fun, but when it's time for this we are all a little thankful.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: inherit;"><span style="font-size: large;">Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by to check in on today's project. This little box started out as just a plain chipboard box - the old fashion school box kind - It is a super basic project, I measured the top, bottom and sides of the box and cut some pretty papers fit. These are from <a href="http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/shop/pink-paislee/107945-dew-drops-12x12-butterfly-garden-paper/?filters=pink-paislee" target="_blank">Pink Paislee</a> .</span> </span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">A little garden green card stock from CTMH added nice detail to edges of the top. The butterflies are cut from the scraps and then the bodies were glued to allow the wings to "flutter". When the box is open you can see this little dress form paper clip. I so love this clip. <span style="font-size: large;">Looking back at recent posts I realized that I have been neglecting my favorite medium...paper and stamps! So today I want to share a little paper project. Believe it or not the bones of this little beauty are the components of an old ribbon spool.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisryrGgchKDJzOyn3wvUwTUtanKOjtU9gR_4HO8zP53F8XeQkhdpoICT9SrzK5fInEb2daZstN66g82RiZB6xehbQmwQqFJotAOrVSvtH1YpHjVLi1FFKv0XjOvICyVxep4guTpnHbNuZt/s1600/DSC_0943.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisryrGgchKDJzOyn3wvUwTUtanKOjtU9gR_4HO8zP53F8XeQkhdpoICT9SrzK5fInEb2daZstN66g82RiZB6xehbQmwQqFJotAOrVSvtH1YpHjVLi1FFKv0XjOvICyVxep4guTpnHbNuZt/s400/DSC_0943.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Here it is in it's original from and deconstructed.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">A big shot die cut machine was used to cut the two disks from the spool into </span><a href="https://spellbinderspaperarts.com/products/p-52-grand-big-scalloped-circles.aspx" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">big scalloped circles</span></a><span style="font-size: large;">, then four pattern paper scallop circles were cut to make one for each side of each disk. Papers shown are from French General . (On a side note if you have never been to the </span><a href="https://www.frenchgeneral.com/" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">French General</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> web site I encourage you to go now, well, maybe right after you are done here. It's so beautiful and the products unbelievable! And even better yet...If you order something ~ you will feel like it is Christmas morning when it arrives. They package everything so beautifully, it makes you feel very special.) A strip of coordinating paper from the same package was cut to fit around the inside and outside of the body of the spool.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Then two more small scallop circles were cut from yet another coordinating paper (I'm telling you this paper is to die for!) The smaller circle was attached to the inside of the lid with foam tape. This simply helps keep the lid from sliding off the top.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">In the shot above you can see that the ring has been glued to one of the scallop circles. Two circles of fluffy felt were gently glued into the bottom of the box to keep treasures from rolling around and getting scratched. The top of the box was decorated with a stamped banner, some crinkled ribbon and a </span><a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-30944/546328-BONNY-Prima-Flowers/Detail" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">prima flower</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> . <span style="font-size: large;">A few weeks ago I shared some photos I edited on </span><a href="http://www.picmonkey.com/" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">PicMonkey</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> for my son's graduation. Today I have some photos of the decorations that I made for his party. This is a long one folks - but I hope it's worth it.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">We had the party at </span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/cartwrightsranchhouse" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">Cartwright's Ranch House</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> in Denton. It has a country feel so I didn't hesitate to use some of that muslin and burlap I had laying around the house. Here is a photo of one of the pennants I made for a K-12 bunting.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggRVRpY4zvjY-3tZMJ6pltIDszZIMmwsYKOSfloIT0_n2koBMj_HJfQaHafI0u5VHG0-SEox3Rr7TSCWansCOxQLVOG4qH28_Bp3eOqKLb-TceYi9fXwdOsm6t1ZS1vqfBYwcoerYiDxQp/s1600/individual+banner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggRVRpY4zvjY-3tZMJ6pltIDszZIMmwsYKOSfloIT0_n2koBMj_HJfQaHafI0u5VHG0-SEox3Rr7TSCWansCOxQLVOG4qH28_Bp3eOqKLb-TceYi9fXwdOsm6t1ZS1vqfBYwcoerYiDxQp/s320/individual+banner.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">For this pennant I made a card stock template, and place it on top of a folded strip of muslin. Pinking shears left a nice edge that would not unravel. I sewed along the sides and bottom leaving an opening at the top of each side to run a piece of twine through for hanging. Next a bulldog clip was sewn by hand and tied with a bow. I decided to use the clips so that after graduation, this bunting can be used for anything.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">For today they nicely hold first day of school photos K- 12! Burlap bows tied the ends. I wish I had a photo of the entire bunting, but I was caught up in the excitement of the day and this is the best I can do for now.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMDLwBH2vyMZjN5Xry23v8h_KkAUcunkBBsq1I4eCpGiRIKj4-H0q_wt4WkkhR82gf-ZtXzaeKlHPf0DrYW5cljHe7WmP921-N2S8aqn8RzoX4VT_yPnTHWb8qQ3hdmkMb_cpxsfQTf2Af/s1600/full+table.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="360" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMDLwBH2vyMZjN5Xry23v8h_KkAUcunkBBsq1I4eCpGiRIKj4-H0q_wt4WkkhR82gf-ZtXzaeKlHPf0DrYW5cljHe7WmP921-N2S8aqn8RzoX4VT_yPnTHWb8qQ3hdmkMb_cpxsfQTf2Af/s640/full+table.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"> Each pennant has a photo with a </span><a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-30176/PRE-dsh-ORDER-Tim-Holtz-Sizzix/Detail" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">rosette</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> (Tim Holtz mini rosette die) and a stamped letter or number, reflecting the school year it was taken.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5kqB5LNzBVVYK7iWIrkqNPHU5Tocjk8gjUnm0pgU21Bkt_G9uFEjB6WKZ2wwHqeVYjesV5VRSnffTFdodFdBpxnub_0Y9yhzWyFUw14oZVrGz73CPvNBN4fEPc79PGq2lWiFBniN9mpPX/s1600/DSC_1543.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5kqB5LNzBVVYK7iWIrkqNPHU5Tocjk8gjUnm0pgU21Bkt_G9uFEjB6WKZ2wwHqeVYjesV5VRSnffTFdodFdBpxnub_0Y9yhzWyFUw14oZVrGz73CPvNBN4fEPc79PGq2lWiFBniN9mpPX/s640/DSC_1543.JPG" width="464" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The little ties ensured that the pennants didn't smush together. Smush is a word, right?</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Next we had about ten of these little burlap wrapped jars that featured photos of the graduate throughout his years in school.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Each centerpiece held four photo and a little rosetter with 2012 in the center.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkGz6I4pM-vRxdxSdWVy0BG696eo_M_ItCbubA_5sZhXvQDtzvtQ9J3gpGVoCnNEY07mVx5xwSA9PkSMeWOVVVRah0Fjj3gdnBdG0B2a1ZTfRY4jnGVm_ryrOQQRb9Cdc-n6JNx6xP7oTL/s1600/center+piece+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkGz6I4pM-vRxdxSdWVy0BG696eo_M_ItCbubA_5sZhXvQDtzvtQ9J3gpGVoCnNEY07mVx5xwSA9PkSMeWOVVVRah0Fjj3gdnBdG0B2a1ZTfRY4jnGVm_ryrOQQRb9Cdc-n6JNx6xP7oTL/s640/center+piece+3.jpg" width="314" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The jars were combined with framed senior photos on one large table. I loved having all the guets around several tables pushed together into one big square. Everyone could see and talk to everyone else. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Now on to the favors. For me it is very important to me to thank guests who have taken the time to celebrate special occasions with us, I wanted the favors to have a photo of Joshua that could be kept seperate from the gift and I also wanted to do one gift per family. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Mason jars filled with homemade chocolate chip cookies, fit those requirements nicely. And...YUM! For these little treats a muslin ruffle was sewn to a gingham ribbon and tied around the neck of each jar.</span></div>

One last photo that really has nothing to do with crafting, sewing, decorating, or crocheting...Here is a picture of me and my boys just afer graduation. <span style="font-size: large;">In April a friend and I took a trip to </span><a href="http://www.cantontxfirstmonday.com/first-monday-schedule-of-dates.html" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">First Monday Trade Days</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> in Canton. You may remember </span><a href="http://www.bee-jamie.blogspot.com/2012/04/im-in-love-im-in-love-and-i-dont-care.html" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">this</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> post where I professed my love for the Santos statue I found that day. On the list of treasures we hoped to find, was a headband holder for my friend's daughter. We searched high and low but found nothing. So I though I would try to make one for her and this is the end result.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTLJTXuhAyiZSHaj_fDfVpYl_NiMw8BfMAdlxuaacVoT_-YWiwNPp4Ac2e2bPk4kZlN2und_w4ysnGj01bet9ngBB0L72JE1DtgTlia84LKq-3343NPnpAdb4s1Lzn_qBUAH6iMrZqkEEp/s1600/DSC_0233.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTLJTXuhAyiZSHaj_fDfVpYl_NiMw8BfMAdlxuaacVoT_-YWiwNPp4Ac2e2bPk4kZlN2und_w4ysnGj01bet9ngBB0L72JE1DtgTlia84LKq-3343NPnpAdb4s1Lzn_qBUAH6iMrZqkEEp/s400/DSC_0233.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">It was a super quick and easy project. This is a can from protein drink mix, but any can about this size will work. Start out by tracing the lid and cutting out the circle, leaving a little extra to cover the edge. Use a stencil or free hand a monogram. The dots are just the end of a paint brush dipped in paint and dotted on the fabric. Set that piece aside to dry.</span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpju-xLNjRBY3yFkMnuGpZRrNF7AK2pqhNOFmxzq6zuIUXiOSHVSumkLNvzbBInQen1NVzNZ8QY9aAT6l0SNFQ5tVt3JV32gOe5Od7YPaDqYl6CQAVJNnK6aeOHYTMflB5O1gGMTMfhaA1/s1600/DSC_0241.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpju-xLNjRBY3yFkMnuGpZRrNF7AK2pqhNOFmxzq6zuIUXiOSHVSumkLNvzbBInQen1NVzNZ8QY9aAT6l0SNFQ5tVt3JV32gOe5Od7YPaDqYl6CQAVJNnK6aeOHYTMflB5O1gGMTMfhaA1/s400/DSC_0241.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Now you can hot glue a little cotton batting to the body of the can and cover with fabric. (muslin was used here - SHOCKING! I know!) then cover the raw edges with ribbon. Next head on over to the sewing machine and make a quick strip ruffle. All you have left now is to cover the lid with the monogrammed piece of fabric, glue the lid to the can, then glue the ruffle around the edge. And there it is...a headband holder.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">It can also stand upright if you prefer, but I found that the headbands keep it from rolling when it is placed on its side. One note if your can has a metal ring on the bottom you may want to apply a clear coat of polyurethane or my favorite go to "glue all, cover all, protect all, fix all" </span><a href="http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-9666/ranger-inkessential-inkssentials-glossy/Detail" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">Glossy Accents</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> around the bottom so that if it gets wet - no rust on your bathroom counter.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I have one more headband holder idea floating around in my head, but for now I would love to know how you store headbands around your house.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: large;">Good morning everyone! Today's post makes me twice as happy as any other post. It combines two of my favorite things...1) learning how to do something new 2) learning how to do something new for FREE! Whoopie! I love the look of watermarks that other bloggers use on their photos. I thought that the photo editing software that came with my new camera would include that feature, but unfortunately it did not. I was actually planning on running out to buy photoshop this week to work on some of Josh's graduation photos. And then (drum roll please) I came across this post from </span><a href="http://my1929charmer.com/using-picmonkey-to-make-a-blog-button-or-facebook-or-etsy-banners/" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">My 1929 Charmer</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> . And voila.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great week. I'm back to share another sewing project with that seemingly endless supply of muslin hanging around my work room. Today I am showing a slipcover I made for the ottoman in my bedroom.</span> </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO3GGL4atVK_dhpntss9xezfu3I6aNcd-s1KdpzrmP9NTCnlyWgXu6_ai9XCgzE8Pb3mHUCFSpDM286rBEHvNOaUzIGuqO_zJjTsv3kkzHxzMte9dJVZV_ySkXdgmRVIu2BlFexXTaYlTY/s1600/DSC_0185.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="267" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhO3GGL4atVK_dhpntss9xezfu3I6aNcd-s1KdpzrmP9NTCnlyWgXu6_ai9XCgzE8Pb3mHUCFSpDM286rBEHvNOaUzIGuqO_zJjTsv3kkzHxzMte9dJVZV_ySkXdgmRVIu2BlFexXTaYlTY/s400/DSC_0185.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: xx-small;">(that's my lovely assistant Joe)</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">It is just basic box construction on the top. I placed the muslin on the ottoman and pinned the corners. Just simple straight sewing after that. I was thrilled to have enough of the little fringe edge to use on the ruffle! Simple, inexpensive and washable, yea!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">This was my first slipcover and although it took me the better part of a day I was pleased with how it turned out!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Have you every sewn a slip cover? I would love to hear about it!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #38761d;">Quick clarification before I begin... it is MUSLIN<strong>:</strong> a plain-woven sheer to coarse cotton fabric as opposed to MUSLIM<strong>:</strong> an adherent of Islam. Bo was really confused for awhile as I danced around the house singing the praises of my latest new love. He was relieved to know that I had not converted to a new religion but just slipped into another crafty obsession.</span> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Yes, I am the girl and the muslin started out as an in expensive way to make some cute blinds for my new </span><a href="http://www.bee-jamie.blogspot.com/2012/04/studio-makeover.html" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">studio</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> . The more I worked with it, the more inspired I became to create with it. I love the slight variation of color, the texture and the light weight makes is a dream to use in projects. So today will begin a series of muslin sewing and craft projects.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Recently a friend and fellow teacher surprised me with this wonderful hand hooked mat. I don't know if I have ever owned such a lovely piece of art, and I was overwhelmed by the fact that she took time to make it just for me.</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitA3Lc0mdmFs1qBpnSEJffnteQNqub0hB0qxqDQ51acYkrNv-wA6Ksl7dYcAj877TuQ-wWIv7pPf62tfIXTjlWL7lxKQmktqpTpAzF3N8TBYjkZSDqh1GNBOgieJAPDJiH3QPeHCOBHdk/s1600/Picture+006.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" closure_uid_ultpb4="4" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitA3Lc0mdmFs1qBpnSEJffnteQNqub0hB0qxqDQ51acYkrNv-wA6Ksl7dYcAj877TuQ-wWIv7pPf62tfIXTjlWL7lxKQmktqpTpAzF3N8TBYjkZSDqh1GNBOgieJAPDJiH3QPeHCOBHdk/s400/Picture+006.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://morewool.blogspot.com/2012/04/friendship.html" target="_blank">Wool stitches and More</a> : take a minute to visit her blog if you get a chance.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">With a gift this special, no ordinary thank you card would do the job. So I unfolded the bolt of muslin and started stamping. I found the muslin super easy to stamp on, I </span><span style="font-size: large;">used </span><a href="http://www.joann.com/staz-on-ink-pads/prd19324/#pro_colors" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">timber brown Staz-on</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> ink so that I wouldn't have to worry about bleeding. It is kind of difficult to tell in the photo, but between the layers of paper and fabric, I placed a little piece of batting to puff the heart up and give some extra dimension to the card.</span> </div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5OrqIqMgLKqE3DW0IFz6xt7jdgVATYpyGInS7Q0PA7ZTThtcltQDPAQJSAHA3RfDW0RbBMS6S-QHboyjv7BGuS2g4zgiQ8W3AvTDmoAEZphupQJfsGeJssF08PCDjq7tFag34OgGliCKg/s1600/DSC_0201.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="427" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5OrqIqMgLKqE3DW0IFz6xt7jdgVATYpyGInS7Q0PA7ZTThtcltQDPAQJSAHA3RfDW0RbBMS6S-QHboyjv7BGuS2g4zgiQ8W3AvTDmoAEZphupQJfsGeJssF08PCDjq7tFag34OgGliCKg/s640/DSC_0201.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The little eyelash looking trim around the heart was actually a "whoops!". I had some adhesive showing through the heart cut out at the top, so i picked up some of the little trimming scraps from cutting the fabric and added them to the edges. It is one of my favorite parts of the card now.</span> </div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipvdfGHqneoqm2x7T2yNF6faVayO0LV5uQUQrHcMpaVW4QKWoE5FrBbnOK_-dmfZR8JSTsYhauMSV44I_JH9wffKW5p_pjG1tRhwLRgtHp28l6Q5IMPGTu3r0DXplXFHMigOZfqGGNguYV/s1600/DSC_0207.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="428" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipvdfGHqneoqm2x7T2yNF6faVayO0LV5uQUQrHcMpaVW4QKWoE5FrBbnOK_-dmfZR8JSTsYhauMSV44I_JH9wffKW5p_pjG1tRhwLRgtHp28l6Q5IMPGTu3r0DXplXFHMigOZfqGGNguYV/s640/DSC_0207.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I tried to keep the inside simple. I ran a tan piece of cardstock though my </span><a href="http://www.joann.com/sizzix-big-shot-pro-diecutting-machine/zprd_10070605a/" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: large;">Big Shot</span></a><span style="font-size: large;"> in a texture plate, dry brushed some ink over the it, and used the heart cut out from the front for my sentiment.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Check back soon for more muslin madness!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

Bo and I have been working like crazy around the house for the last few month. We have finally completed one of the project rooms, so if your not too busy, I would love to share some photos of my new studio with you. </span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">I loved having all of my cards, photos, notes and mementos out where I could see them, but frankly it was a little over stimulating. In the next photo you can see the lovely honeycomb blinds (Yikes!). And the scalloped cornice I that has been a mainstay of this room's decor since we moving in fifteen years ago. In my defense it has been recovered three times. I love the line it creates across the room, but it was time for the toile to go.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">And guess what...no more honey comb shades. Whoopie! I had really put off replacing them, because oddly none of the windows in this room are the same size and so it would mean having custom shades made, and who wants to spend all that money on something as boring as blinds? Not me. So I decided to try my hand at sewing some faux roman shades out of muslin.</span> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">Ahhh, much better. I covered the cornice with a beautiful paisley print and a black ruffled trim. I don't just mean the "Oh! That's a cool website!" It's a crazy kind of love. I just want to check back every few minutes to make sure that I haven't missed the next great project, or who knows someone may have just pinned a wonderful recipe (for something that isn't white) with only three ingredients. What ever my latest interest is I know that I can always find good information and endless ideas about it on Pintrest. But, I realized something last night...while I have pinned 99 things on my "I have to make this" board, I haven't really been making very much. So today I decided it was high time I created something new. I wanted to create something that was inspired by a in on my board. So this was the inspiration piece. It was pinned from a cute blog called <a href="http://debbiedesigns.typepad.com/muse_and_amuse/2012/03/pti-march-2012-release.html" target="_blank">Thinking Inking</a> , she has tons of really great cards so stop by if you get a chance.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><img alt="cute card" class="PinImageImg" src="http://media-cache0.pinterest.com/upload/281615782919022713_poipJXdN_b.jpg" style="height: 224px;" /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">And here is my card. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXfIcF4Gl8wgmB550S0NU1RaLHF9VAHmuL-ft5-qya1LW85bfDfg3p1_N5hy3mGywSGGhplIsXT_FezK7xeGxkzEPEUCmsY6dGkvDQgHajE0GxVGaz7Z5oUc2OLvPwgtpZPoBUYp1Lwq7F/s1600/DSC_0075.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXfIcF4Gl8wgmB550S0NU1RaLHF9VAHmuL-ft5-qya1LW85bfDfg3p1_N5hy3mGywSGGhplIsXT_FezK7xeGxkzEPEUCmsY6dGkvDQgHajE0GxVGaz7Z5oUc2OLvPwgtpZPoBUYp1Lwq7F/s400/DSC_0075.JPG" width="267" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Not exactly the same, but It does share a few similarities. That's what I love about art. You may start with a map in your hand, but the route you take to your destination is never quite the one you had planned. At least in my case. This little fairy is from <a href="http://www.craftysecrets.com/" target="_blank">Crafty Secrets.</a> It is a stamp from one of their clear art stamp sets called born to fly. I have wanted her forever. I paper pieced her dress and if you look closely you can see the sparkly pink bows on her shoes. Love that glitter! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Have you made anything lately? If not I encourage you to get to work on any little crafty project you have around. It's good for the soul.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Take care,</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">j</div>Jamiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05792045437363261653noreply@blogger.com0
